It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph (Joe) Smith announces his sudden passing on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Grand Bank at the age of 65. Joe was born in Lally Cove but moved to Belleoram at the age of 6 where he lived the rest of his life.

Joe leaves to mourn his loving family with a lifetime of love and precious memories: his loving wife of 45 years, Vilcey; son, Greg (Janice) at Nova Scotia; daughters, Danika (Chris) at Nova Scotia and Britany (Ronnie) at Bishop’s Falls; his pride and joy, grandchildren, Caleb and Lana; brothers, Allen (Patsy) and Martin (Donna) all at Nova Scotia; sisters, Tryphena (Roy) at Fortune, Dorothy (Philip George) at Belleoram, Myrtle (Cecil) at Grand Bank and Anne (Eugene) at Belleoram; special aunts, Rhoda at Belleoram and Dorothy at Nova Scotia; as well as the extended Dominix Family, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Philip Martin and Sarah Jane Smith; mother and father in law, Maude and George Dominix, brother, Albert; sister, Martha; sister in law, Una.

Visitation took place on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel, Harbour Breton. COVID 19 regulations were followed with Face Masks and Vax Passes required.

Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm from St. Lawrence Anglican Church at Belleoram with Rev. Tryphena Vallis officiating.
