Obituary for Shirley Benjamin Banfield

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Benjamin Banfield announces his passing at the Hugh Twomey Health Care Center at Botwood on Monday, January 10, 2022, age 87 years of Sandyville.

Shirley leaves to mourn his loving family: his wife, Laura of 65 years; daughters, Sheila (Joe) Walsh, Marina (Vernon) Simms, Elaine (Darrell) Hillier, Tammy Banfield (Colin) and Amanda (Mike) Langdon; grandchildren, Sheldon (Norma), Jodie (Pedro), Jasmine, Miranda (Ben), Mason, Shelby (Catie), Laura and Kelsie; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Crewe, Eva Hunt and Joyce (Redmond) King; brother-in-law, Wilson Piercey; sisters-in-law, Elsie Loveless and Lillian Carter; as well as a circle of other family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Myrtle Banfield; parents-in-law, George and Susie Piercey; sister, Ada Prior; brothers in law, Clayton Prior, Leslie Crewe, Maxwell Hunt and Edward Carter; sister-in-law, Ethel Piercey.

Private Visitation for Family Only took place at St. Saviour’s Haven at Hermitage on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. COVID-19 regulations were followed.

Funeral Service for Family Only was held at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church at Hermitage on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robynn Toal officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Hermitage-Sandyville. COVID-19 regulations were followed.
