Obituary for Stanley Joseph Kendell

Stanley Joseph Kendell, 89, of Milltown, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor.

Born in Milltown he was the son of the late Philip and Martha (Kearley) Kendell. Stan was a great provider to his family and will be remembered by all as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend to many.

Stan was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Canadian Army in the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #61.

Survived by his wife, Gussie (Sheppard); children, Shirley (Clyde) at Milltown, Stanley Kendell (Margie) at Fort McMurray, AB, Marilyn (Wayne) at Houston, Tx; Lisa (Rodney) at Dartmouth, NS, and Denise at Conne River; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Joy; and his siblings, John, Wilson and Bessie.

In celebrating Stan’s life, the family received visitors on Saturday, July 31, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm; on Sunday, August 1, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm; on Monday, August 2, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Christ Church in Milltown.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 3 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church in Milltown with Rev. Hubert Vallis and Rev. Roy Simms officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Milltown.
