It is with great sadness that the family of Leo George Thornhill announces his passing at his residence at Harbour Breton on Saturday, March 27, 2021, age 65 years of Harbour Breton.

Leo leaves to mourn his loving family: wife, Christable, married for 46 years; son, Chris (Tara) at St. John’s; daughters, Cheryl (Desmond), Leila (Anthony) and Leanne (Tim), who lovingly cared for her Father, all at Harbour Breton; grandchildren, Kelsie, Alanah, Jordan, Emma, Brooke, Jacob, Jaylen and Brittany; brothers, Derek (Helena) at St. Joseph’s Cove, Rick (Brenda) at Bishops Falls and Larry (Joanne) at Coomb’s Cove; sisters, Alvina (Merlin) at Terra Nova, Ivy at Stephenville and Peggy (Roger) at Grand Falls-Windsor; long-time friend, Bruce White (Sonya) at C.B.S.; home care workers, Tina Day and Patsy Prior; as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.

Leo was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Eliza Thornhill; parents in law, Alex and Isabel Snook; brothers in law, Aiden Mahoney and Willie Snook.

Visitation took place at Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel at Harbour Breton on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. COVID-19 regulations were followed.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church at Harbour Breton with Rev. Bruce Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
