Obituary for Leonard Chesley Langdon

It is with great sadness that the family of Leonard Chesley Langdon announces his sudden passing as the result of a tragic accident on Saturday, April 4th,2020, age 74 years of Seal Cove, Fortune Bay.

He leaves to mourn with many fond memories his loving family: wife, Joy, of 52 years; children, Ivan (Ruth) at Calgary, AB, Chris (Ida) at Labrador City, NL, Sherry Loveless (Craig) at Paradise, NL and Pamela Power (Stephen) at St. John’s, NL; grandchildren, Chelsea Van Dyke (Aren), Dylan, Kyle, Jenna, Sarah and Rebecca; sister, Bessie Forsey (Fred); brother in law, Eric Loveless (Beulah); sister in law, Betty Langdon; nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a large circle of family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Dulcie Langdon; brother, Herman Langdon; sister, Meta Forsey; brother in law, Andrew Forsey; father and mother in law, Reginald and Effie Loveless; sister in law, Kathleen Loveless; brother in law, Hickman Loveless.

Due to the COVID-19 , there will not be any visitation or funeral service at this time. Private Burial with a graveside service for immediate family was held at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Seal Cove on April 9, 2020.

Viewing for IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ONLY (spouse, children, grandchildren, siblings) will take place at the Salvation Army, Seal Cove.

The Family would like to thank all the people from the community, RCMP and Emergency Responders who were involved in the search and recovery effort. Thank you to friends and family for all the phone calls, love and support. We would also like to thank Majors Osbourne and Roxanne Randell for all their support during this difficult time. Thank you to Spencer’s Funeral Home for making the funeral arrangements and for all their support.
