Passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Monday, August 27th, 2018, Elsie Saunders, at the age of 71 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Julia Skinner; son, Kevin; sisters, Alfreda, Alice and Stella.

She leaves to mourn her partner, Calvin Burton at Springdale; sisters, Audrey (Bill) at Belleoram and Bessie at Harbour Breton; brothers, Willie (Sadie) at Alberta, Albert (Marie) at Port au Bras and Raymond (Charlene) at Harbour Breton; children, Loretta (Den) at Belleoram, Shirley (John) at Nova Scotia, Jim at Springdale and Wanda-Lee at Nova Scotia; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was born in Harbour Breton on July 5th, 1947. She moved to Springdale 46 years ago and met her partner of 43 years, Calvin Burton. She loved to sit at home and do her crossword puzzles and watch game shows. She, also, loved to go to bingo two or three nights a week.

She loved to see company coming especially her family. She was a very strong fighter as she dealt wit illness most of her life. She will be ever loved and missed by many. Also, a huge thank you to her 2 home care workers, Sherry and Danielle, who took great care of her when she was at home

Visitation took place at Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel ,Harbour Breton on Wednesday, August 29 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm,and, 6:30 pm to 9:00pm.

Funeral Service took place on Thursday, August 30, at 2:00 pm from Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
