Obituary for Rena Burton

On April 14, 2018 at 3:00 pm, surrounded by her family, Jesus came and gently took our beautiful Mother by the hand and carried her across the river to that beautiful mansion that He has especially prepared for her.

Rena was born in Pool’s Cove on August 21, 1915 to Angus and Maryann (Savoury) Bambury.

Predeceased by her parents, Angus and Maryann Bambury; husband, Ronald, father of her five children; son Ronald; daughter, Lorraine Abbott; granddaughter, Tanya Ruiters; great granddaughter, Candace Victoria Abbott; granddaughter in-law, Sharon Regular; brothers, Freeman, Minto, Perry, and Thomas; sisters, Emmie Walters, Alma Boone, Rita Harvey, and Selina Laybolt.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: son, Glen (Jane) at Pool's Cove; daughters, Kathleen Williams at Pool's Cove and Alice Regular (Doug) at St. John’s; daughter in law, Maude Williams at Pool’s Cove; Claude Bond (spouse of Lorraine Abbott) at Belleoram; grandchildren, Hank Williams(Daphne), Glenda Blagdon (Kevin), Ronnie Williams, Craig Williams(Juanita), Sharon May(Dan), Chris Williams (Judy), Nichole Williams, Shawn Regular (Linda), Doulas Regular (Wendy), Colin Williams (Bonnie), Jamie Williams (Angie), Dana Bond (Wade) and Tara Snook (Arch); grandson in-law, Roy Ruiters; 24 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; plus a large circle of nephews, neices, cousins, and friends, especially those at the Connaigre Health Centre, where she resided for the last 6 years.

Funeral Services was held at MacDermott United Church in Pool’s Cove on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Georgina Parsons officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Pool's Cove.
