Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Center in Harbour Breton on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, Hubert Benjamin Short, age 79 years of Harbour Breton.

Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Gladys; daughters, Brenda (Raymond), Ruby (Clayton Piercey), Sheila (Leo Chapman), Janice (Albert Smith), Daphne all at Harbour Breton and Annie (Dean) at St. John’s; son, Jimmy at Harbour Breton; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Lilly (Norman) at Harbour Breton and Ethel Rose at Corner Brook; plus a number of other relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Annie Short; sister, Annie Pierce; brother in law, Sandy Rose; and other relatives.

Public viewing will begin at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 26 at Spencer's Funeral Home, Harbour Breton.

Funeral Service was held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 am from St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church at Harbour Breton with Rev. Hubert Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
